The Litters screen

Litters lists every litter you've recorded, newest first. Add one with Add litter; open any card to manage its pups, dates and compliance.

What each card shows

• Name and a status badge — Expecting, Active or Complete. Status is worked out automatically; see Statuses & limits.
• State · species · pup count — for example, "NSW · Dog · 5 pups".
• The dam × sire pairing.
• The key date: "Whelped [date]" once born, otherwise "Due [date]", or "No dates yet".

The whelp date is the most important date on a litter — it sets your legal deadlines and the earliest go-home date. For every litter field, see the Litters reference.

What you'll see on a litter's page

Open a litter and a few values explain themselves:

• External / unknown (shown for the sire) — no sire from your animals is linked. Use it when the father was an outside stud, or simply isn't recorded.
• Delivery: Natural / not set — no caesarean has been recorded, so the birth was either natural or hasn't been filled in yet. (Once you tick caesarean, this shows Caesarean instead.)
• The Accidental pill — marks the litter as unplanned. Some state rules still apply to accidental litters.

Sections on a litter's page

A litter's page is split into a few sections:

• Shared litter weights — whole-litter weigh-ins, handy before pups are weighed one by one. Each pup also has its own weight chart on its own page.
• Compliance checklist — this litter's state deadlines (microchipped, first vaccination, wormed, minimum sale age, plus NSW birth-record / register-retained-pups and QLD supply-number where relevant), routed by the litter's own state. See How compliance works for the status badges.
• Litter records & photos — documents or photos that cover the whole litter, such as a group photo or a vet visit / worming dose given to all the pups at once. Anything about one individual pup goes on that pup's page.

Note — Every record links to exactly one of a sire/dam, a litter, or a pup. Litter-level means the whole group; pup-level means that individual.

The pup-status chips

Each pup on the litter shows a status chip — Available, Reserved, Sold or Kept. For what each one means, see Pup status in Statuses, limits & rules.
