WhelpkeepWaitlist & Buyers reference
Every field on a buyer in Whelpkeep — name, email, phone, state, stage and the private pick order — plus how assigning a buyer to a pup works.
Waitlist & Buyers holds the people enquiring about or buying your pups. Buyers never see each other or your rankings. Add one with Add buyer.
Name
The buyer's name. Required.
The buyer's email address. Optional but important: it's how they receive their puppy-page link, deposit receipts and contract. Each buyer email must be unique within your kennel — Whelpkeep won't let you create two buyers with the same address, to avoid mixing them up.
Phone
A contact number. Optional.
State
The buyer's state. Optional — useful context, especially for interstate sales.
Stage
Where the buyer is in your pipeline: Enquiry, Deposit paid or Handover. Helps you see your waitlist at a glance. Taking a paid deposit moves things along automatically.
Pick order
Your private ranking of who chooses a pup first (1 = first pick). Optional. This is breeder-only — buyers never see their pick order or anyone else's. Use it to manage who gets to choose as pups become available.
Notes
Free text, private to you. Optional — a good place for what the buyer is looking for.
Assigning a buyer to a pup
From a buyer or a pup you can assign the two together. Assigning links the buyer to that specific pup, sets up the sale, and (once a deposit is paid) unlocks the buyer's private puppy page. You can unassign and reassign if plans change.
