The Dashboard

What the Whelpkeep Dashboard shows — active litters, the Needs your attention list, your compliance snapshot, and the Waitlist & money figures including Active sales, Deposits pending and Deposits paid.

The Dashboard is your home screen — a read-only summary of what's happening across your kennel. Nothing is edited here: every card links to the page where you can act. It opens with Welcome, [your kennel name].

Active litters

Your litters that are still on the go — Expecting or Active — each shown with its status badge. Completed litters drop off this list (you'll still find them under Litters). Click any litter to open it.

If you have no active litters, this becomes "Things are quiet right now", with shortcuts to start a new litter or check compliance. Nothing is lost — your animals, compliance and puppy-page keepsakes are all still here; it's just a quiet season.

Needs your attention

Your live to-do list. It mirrors every reminder Whelpkeep raises — upcoming microchip and vaccination deadlines, deposits awaiting payment, balances due, buyer updates and ID re-checks. Each item links straight to where you fix it. A coloured dot shows urgency:

  • Red — overdue
  • Amber — due now or soon
  • Grey — coming up

"You're all caught up — nothing outstanding" means there's nothing to do right now.

Compliance

A snapshot of your breeder IDs — one row per state, each with its validation badge (such as Valid, Check pending or Invalid). If something needs fixing, the card turns red. Open hub → takes you to the full Compliance screen. No ID on file yet? It prompts you to add one.

Waitlist & money

Four quick figures, each a link to the page behind it:

  • Waitlist — how many buyers are on your list (everyone in Waitlist & Buyers).
  • Active sales — sales currently in progress: a pup matched to a buyer whose sale has started but isn't finished. A sale stops counting here once the pup has gone home or the sale is cancelled.
  • Deposits pending — deposit links you've sent that the buyer hasn't paid yet.
  • Deposits paid — deposits that have been paid into your Stripe account.

Getting started checklist

A brand-new account (no litters yet) also sees a short Getting started checklist — set up compliance, add your first animal, import your data. It's optional, and it disappears once you're up and running.
